Jesus A. Salas, Psy.D. ACT

Dr. Salas is the Director of the Center for Integrative Psychotherapy, PC. He earned his Bachelors degree in psychology from Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela, and his Master of Arts degree in Social Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Salas also holds a Master of Science and Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Philadelphia, PA. He received specialized training in cognitive therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, Philadelphia, where he now works as a clinical supervisor and is part of the Institute's Speakers Bureau.
He also received specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at the Center for Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a diplomate by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Dr. Salas is a licensed psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as in Venezuela, where he worked in private practice for 15 years. He has served as a professor in the Department of Psychology at Rafael Urdaneta University, Maracaibo, Venezuela, and at Andres Bello Catholic University, Caracas, Venezuela. Dr. Salas was also the Chair of the Master's in Clinical Psychology at Rafael Urdaneta University. Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology at PCOM in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Salas' areas of expertise and research interests include anxiety, stress related disorders, and biofeedback, areas in which he has a number of publications.
His books include Inteligencia Social [Social Intelligence] and Panic Disorder: Assessment and Treatment Through a Wide Angle Lens (with Dattilio). He is also on the editorial board of the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology. Dr. Salas also works with depressive disorders and marital problems. He conducts group training for social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, communication and problem solving for couples, and stress reduction. Dr. Salas has been a provider of professional workshops on cognitive-behavior therapy in the United States, Venezuela, Mexico and Spain.
