Christine Gorigoitia-Wittenberg, Psy.D. has worked in the field of psychology in different capacities over the last 10 years in Chile, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her career started in community mental health in Chile as a licensed psychologist with children, adolescents and their families, and later transitioned to health psychology as she worked with HIV positive teens in the Adolescent Division of the University of Maryland In Baltimore.
She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Loyola College in Maryland and completed her internship at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia. After joining Loyola College her clinical and academic interests expanded including psychotherapy with survivors of torture and trauma, mind & body psychology, elderly and most recently eating disorders. This late interest in eating disorders lead her to a post-doctoral fellowship at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Baltimore where she was trained to practice a holistic approach with her clients utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) as the theoretical framework.
