Joshua Makoul, M.S., LPC < email >
Joshua Makoul, M.S., LPC has been in the mental health couseling field for over a decade. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychotherapy from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, and a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia PA. Joshua is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has attended two years of family therapy training at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center and also presented case studies while attending training there. He has also completed an internship at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital in Bedford, MA working with patients in the psychiatric and geriatric settings.
Joshua also completed an intership at the Florence Child Guidance Center in Allentown, PA. He is a member of the Lehigh Valley Psychological Association, as well as an associate member of the American Psychological Association. He has worked in outpatient, community based, and school based settings. His experience also includes family therapy, play therapy with traumatized children, and therapy with adolescents, as well as individual therapy with adults. Joshua places an emphasis on a cognitive-behavioral approach, as well as a family systems theory approach in therapy. Joshua has received his certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in June of 2008 under the direction of Arthur Freeman, Ed.D.
