Christine Gorigoitia-Wittenberg, Psy.D. < email >
Christine Gorigoitia-Wittenberg, Psy.D. has worked in the field of psychology in different capacities over the last 10 years in Chile, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her career started in community mental health in Chile as a licensed psychologist with children, adolescents and their families, and later transitioned to health psychology as she worked with HIV positive teens in the Adolescent Division of the University of Maryland In Baltimore.
She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Loyola College in Maryland and completed her internship at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia. Her post-doctoral training at Sheppard Pratt Hospital
in Baltimore
provided her with skills to practice a holistic approach with her clients utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) as the theoretical framework.
Her clinical and academic expertise include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mind and body psychology, sports psychology and psychoeducation focused on performance and wellness adherence. In addition to traditional training in psychology, she also has substantial training in the aspects of the therapeutic circus arts with focus on the benefits of movement in mental health, and she teaches aerial prep at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. Dr. Gorigoitia-Wittenberg is currently working only with children and adolescents suffering with depression and anxiety between the ages of 10 to 18.
