John C. Carnahan, MS, LMFT, LPC < email >
John Carnahan has worked over 10 years as a psychotherapeutic therapist to couples, families and individual adults, adolescents and children. After graduating in 1999 from Chestnut Hill College with a M.S. in Counseling Psychology, John worked for seven years in the Adolescent and Families Together program at Valley Youth House. During that time, John provided individual and family in-home counseling to child victims of sexual abuse and neglect. In 2006, John opened his private practice in Emmaus, which he still operates on Fridays and Saturdays, specializing in the treatment of chronic relationship problems. From 2007 to 2010, John provided counseling at Cooper Psychological Associates working with a broad range of clients and mental health issues. John has obtained a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition, he is receiving extensive training in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and anticipates completing certification by the end of this year. John obtained his PA Family and Marital Therapist license in 2004 and his PA Licensed Professional Counselor license in 2007. John is a National Certified Counselor and is a current member of the Lehigh Valley Psychological and Counseling Association.
